here are currently no opportunities for private retailers in Quebec, as all cannabis outlets and online sales are authorized and regulated by the Société québécoise du cannabis (SQDC).
There are currently 52 SQDC dispensaries in Quebec, a number that may continue to grow in 2021 and 2022.
Quebec has comparatively stricter regulations for the consumption of cannabis products. The legal consumption age is 21, and the SQDC does not sell vaping products, most edible products (e.g., candies, desserts, chocolates) and any other product deemed appealing to people under 21. It is also forbidden to smoke or vape cannabis in any public place, whether indoor or outdoor.
There are currently no plans for Quebec to move to a private retail model. However, if that happens in the future, CannDelta will be here to help!
